Introduction
Welcome my friends! In today’s tutorial, we’re diving into the exciting world of the Mightier Amp Ver. 0.9.10 and its integration with the M-Wave Chocolate pedal board. If you’re a guitarist looking to enhance your control over your Nux Mighty Plug MP2 or MP Pro, you’ve come to the right place. In this blog post, we’ll explore the latest updates and functionalities introduced by this powerful combination.
Setting the Stage
Before we get into the nitty-gritty details, let’s make sure we’re on the same page. This tutorial assumes you’ve watched some of my previous videos on how to connect your NuX devices, like the Nux Mighty Plug, to your Android smartphone. Unfortunately, the app we’ll be discussing is currently Android-only. There’s a separate video for iOS users, but it comes with limitations, so Android users are in for a treat!
Version Check
First things first, ensure you have the right version of the Mighty Amp app installed. The functionalities we’re about to explore are available in versions 0.9.8 and 0.9.9, but I recommend using the latest, which is 0.9.10. This version has addressed some issues from the previous ones, ensuring a smoother experience.
Mapping Your M-Wave Chocolate
Now, let’s delve into the exciting part: mapping the buttons on your M-Wave Chocolate pedal board to control various functions of your Mighty Amp. To begin, make sure you’re in “Program Change B” mode on your pedal board. This mode allows you to access 128 banks of four functionalities each, offering incredible flexibility.
Connecting Your Devices
- Close the app and open your Mighty Amp.
- Turn on your Nux Mighty device and ensure it’s connected (usually, it connects automatically).
- In the Mighty Amp app, press “Settings.”
Mapping Functions
1. Channel Preset/Keys
- In the settings, look for the “Channel Preset/Keys” option.
- Here, you’ll find options to select the previous channel, next channel, and channels 1 to 7.
- The new additions include “previous preset,” “next preset,” “previous preset category,” and “next preset category.”
- These additions allow you to map your buttons to not only change channels but also switch between preset categories. Perfect for organizing your sounds!
2. Effect Hotkeys
- The “Effect Hotkeys” section allows you to map buttons for controlling various effects.
- This part functions similarly to previous versions of the app, so I won’t go into detail here.
3. Parameter Hotkeys
- “Parameter Hotkeys” is for mapping buttons to control parameters with a range, like volume, amplifier level, or FX level.
- This section offers improved control over amplifier parameters, providing more options than previous versions.
4. Drum Hotkeys
- “Drum Hotkeys” is where the fun begins for those who use backing tracks.
- You can map buttons to start and stop the drum track, adjust the tempo, and change drum styles.
- The feature to increase or decrease tempo by one or five is particularly handy.
- You can also map buttons to navigate between different drum styles, making your practice sessions dynamic.
5. Gem Tracks Hotkeys
- “Gem Tracks Hotkeys” is dedicated to controlling your backing tracks (gem tracks).
- You can map buttons to play/pause, select previous/next track, rewind, fast forward, and even set A/B repeat points.
- These options give you complete control over your backing tracks, making practice sessions more productive.
Testing Your Setup
Now that you’ve mapped your buttons let’s put your setup to the test:
- Start and stop your backing track.
- Adjust the tempo up and down, or use the top tempo button.
- Navigate between drum styles or back to the original one.
- Control your gem tracks with ease, playing, pausing, and even setting A/B repeat points.

There you have it, a comprehensive guide to exploring the powerful features of Mighty Amp Ver. 0.9.10 when paired with the M-Wave Chocolate pedal board. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced guitarist, these enhancements provide an array of options for seamless control during your practice and performances.
